Faustino Oncina Coves was educated at the University of Valencia (Spain) and at the University of Mainz (Germany). He is Professor of Modern and Contemporary Philosophy at the University of Valencia, Institute of Philosophy. After several periods as a visiting researcher at the Spanish National Research Council (Madrid), at the Max-Planck-Institute of History of European Right (Frankfurt a. M.) and the University of Mainz, he is currently a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Berlin (Germany). His research focuses on Enlightenment, German Idealism, Hermeneutics and the relations between Conceptual History and Modernity. His latest books about these topics are Historia conceptual, Ilustración y Modernidad [Conceptual History, Enlightenment and Modernity] (Barcelona, 2009), Teorías y Prácticas de la Historia Conceptual [Theories and Practices of Conceptual History] (Madrid/México, 2009) and Palabras, conceptos, ideas: Estudios de Historia Conceptual [Words, Concepts, Ideas: Studies in Conceptual History] (Barcelona, 2010).
