Biografía:
Javier León was Graduated in Biological Sciences and in Pharmacy, Universidad Complutense, Madrid. He also holds the title of Specialist in Microbiology (Hospital Marqués de Valdecilla). He defended his PhD Thesis in 1983 and did the postdoctoral research in New York University (1984- 1986) and then became Assistant Prof in the University of Cantabria (UC). Since 1994 is Full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the UC. In 2007 he moved to the Instituto de Biomedicina y Biotecnología (IBBTEC)-. He has been visiting scientist for 2,5 years in in Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Seattle) and Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Harvard University. He has supervised 21 PhD Thesis and published 95 research papers. His research field is cancer molecular biology, focused in the transcriptional mechanisms. He teaches molecular biology and cancer biology courses in the Medicine and Biomedicine degrees
